Free breaks through your local surgery...

Is caring for your family member or friend having a negative impact on your own health? Are you in need of a break?

We have launched a new scheme which means you can access a FREE break (up to the value of £50) through your local GP Surgery. The break can be something like a gym membership, a sports activity, complementary therapy, hair and beauty appointment, or, if circumstances allow, a day out. Anything which ensures you get some time to yourself and a bit of a treat.

All you have to do is go and see your GP, Practice Nurse or Health Care Worker and enquire about having a break through Carer Support Wiltshire.

Discounts for Carers at attractions around the UK

Many attractions and places of interest in the UK offer free entry or discounts for Carers.

For each place, you may want to contact them beforehand to check what kind of proof they need that you’re a Carer before you set-off on your day out.

The Cinema Exhibitors' Association Card

The Cinema Exhibitors’ Association Card is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to one free ticket for a person accompanying them. The card is valid for one year and there is just a processing fee of £5.50 per card. To apply for the card you will need to
submit proof to show that you meet one or more of the following criteria:

a) Be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance.
b) Be a registered blind person.

If the person you care for falls into either category then you are entitled to go along to the cinema with them for free.

Printed application forms are available from cinemas across the UK supporting the card. You can also download a form online at www.ceacard.co.uk
