Join us for Carers Week 2017

Carers Week is an annual awareness campaign to bring caring right out into the open – recognising and celebrating the contribution carers make to families and communities throughout the UK.

The focus for Carers Week is on Building Carer Friendly Communities – places where local people and services support carers to look after their loved ones, while recognising that carers are individuals with needs of their own. All of us, wherever we live, whatever we do, have a part to play. You can highlight a carer friendly organisation on the Carers Week website here:

We’ll be in the region’s hospitals throughout the week, so please look out for us and say hello.

We’re also celebrating and recognising carers during Carers Week by giving them and the person they care for a real treat. We’ve teamed up with other lovely organisations to host Afternoon Tea events throughout the region. Thank you to everyone involved. Pics to follow soon.

GP practices around the region are also getting involved.

  • Salisbury Medical Practice are hosting a Carers Open Day on Friday 16th June 10am-1pm. Everyone welcome to attend.
  • The Barcroft Practice in Amesbury are hosting a carer afternoon tea on Tuesday 13th June from 3-4.30pm. Ring 01980 676957 for more info.
  • The Courtyard Surgery in West Lavington will be hosting a coffee/tea afternoon on Monday 19th. Alzheimers Support will also be attending.

You can help give more carers a break by organising your own afternoon tea fundraiser and raising money for our Time For Carers Appeal. Get in touch with our friendly fundraising team to find out how you can get involved on 01380 871690.
