National News: Kinship carers should receive same support and rights as those who adopt

Charities have said that kinship carers - grandparents, older siblings and close friends who take on the full-time custody of children - do not currently receive the same support and rights, despite children having been through similar experiences as those who are adopted.

There are more than 200,000 children living with kinship carers.
