Carer Involvement
We want to ensure that carers’ voices are directly involved in all decision making for the development of new and existing services which support carers across Wiltshire.
The team at CSW are here to ensure you all get an opportunity to have your say and can talk about any concerns and issues you may have. We want to be able to harness the skills, expertise and knowledge you’ve gained from your caring role and let you know of any opportunities to influence policies that may affect you.
Wiltshire Carer Involvement Group
The Wiltshire Carer Involvement Group (WCIG) is a group of carers who meet once a quarter to discuss issues that affect all carers in Wiltshire and try to come up with practical solutions to put to the various agencies, including Wiltshire Council, who are responsible for the services that are available to carers across the county.
The topics WCIG debate are those that carers have raised themselves and affect all carers so if you are aware of something that you feel is not working as it should then please feed this into WCIG who can discuss it on your behalf. You can send any topics that you would like debated to the Chair of WCIG, Steve Rose, who can be contacted on 0800 181 4118 or via email at [email protected].
The outcomes of the WCIG meetings are presented at the Wiltshire Carers Action Group (WCAG) which is also held once a quarter and is chaired by Wiltshire Council. Attendees include the various charities and organisations, including Carer Support Wiltshire, who provide services for carers across the county.
Both WCIG and WCAG ensure that carer’s issues are discussed and that they directly influence policy so the work that they do is vital to the wellbeing of carers across Wiltshire.
If you would like to be a part of WCIG and help shape the services that are available for all carers, we are looking for new members to join the team. Please contact Steve for a chat.
