Training & Education

We are leading on a multi-agency training programme to deliver a wide range of free training and educational opportunities to help carers to develop skills to help them in their caring role.

There are a variety of subjects and areas on offer including lifting and handling, condition-specific training, basic first aid and coping strategies. There is also an area for those who are moving on from the caring role to try and enable you to gain qualifications that could help you back into work or to follow a new interest.

Those currently involved include:

  • Age UK Wiltshire
  • Alzheimer’s Support
  • Dorothy House Hospice
  • Learning Curve
  • LIFT Psychology
  • St John Ambulance
  • Wiltshire Blind Association
  • Wiltshire Pathways

The training programme is funded by a pooled budget from Wiltshire Council and NHS Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group and is made up of a partnership of organisations who are committed to supporting carers.
