Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974

Due to the nature of our work Carer Support Wiltshire is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. We therefore ask volunteers at the time of application to provide information about all convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings including those that would be considered spent.

Previous cautions/convictions etc. will not necessarily prevent you from becoming a volunteer but may affect the type of work we can offer you.

If you have any queries about this please talk to the volunteer manager as it will automatically exclude you from volunteering for us if we become aware of anything of this nature at a later date.

NB: For some volunteer roles a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) check will be mandatory. All DBS checks will reveal details of an applicant's spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings from the Police National Computer (PNC).
